The bells were pealing at Westminster Abbey as thousands gathered in London to watch Prince William and Kate (Catherine) Middleton get married today.

ROYAL WEDDING! William and Kate: The Dress, The Hair, The Day

Adorned in an in intricate, off-white gown, designed by Sarah Burton, creative director at the late Alexander McQueen's fashion house, Middleton wore a layered veil made of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers paired with a Cartier ‘halo' tiara lent to Middleton by the queen.

Middleton's bridal gown's sweeping train measured just over six feet and according to the official royal wedding website, "The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen's designs."

As for her hair, Middleton insisted on natural hair for her big day. Stylist James Pryce supported by his team at Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, decided to style her hair down with the focus of the style on the individual tiara, set just back from the hairline.

Guests at the Royal Wedding were also a sight to see-many were adorned in bright colors and larger-than-life hats! Queen Elizabeth II wore a primrose-yellow double crepe wool coat and matching wool dress by Angela Kelly, with hand-sown beading at the neck in the shape of sunrays. Carole Middleton (Catherine's mother) opted for an elegant sky-blue wool crepe coatdress with a hat by Berkshire-based Jane Corbett. While, Camilla, The Duchesse of Cornwall, wore a champagne silk dress and champagne coat with hand-embroidered detailing, with a show-stopper hat by Philip Treacy

More on the wedding style, William slipped a wedding ring made of rare Welsh gold on his bride's finger. Crafted by Wartski Company, a shop founded in Wales in 1865, Queen Elizabeth II presented William with the jewelry right after his engagement announcement in November.

So what did you think about the wedding? Did you have a favorite look? What about Kate Middleton's hair? Would you have done it differently or not? On Facebook this morning, MODERN asked our readers their take on the Royal wedding. Read some of the responses below:

Cynthia Torres Very simple, pretty but not very creative. Also the dress had a beautiful neck line, I would have suggested she wear her hair all the way up. A low bun or something in that realm.
Stephanie Daniell Her eyebrows are over colored in! They look wonkey but I love the classic simple hair!
Michaels Hairloft It suited Princess Kate. But as a Designer, we all wanted more.
Roxanne Masching Very underwhelming.
Cozette Jeanneret-davis I think it was beautifully stated that she wanted to appear as William loves to see her-as herself. She is beautiful, the whole ceremony was wonderful
Aura Mae I expected more glamorous hair and headpiece. Hate the way the curls lie on the lace shoulders of the dress. Catherine has her hairdressers on hand all day to make sure she looks polished at every moment, but the real world brides who copy her style for their own weddings will look disheveled in half of their pictures.
Shelly Duffee It was classic all around, top to bottom. Something I would have chosen? No prob not. However it's very fitting for the type of event, and she looked beautiful.
Christine Ruggaber-Wood Of course she looks beautiful as usual, and WOW, that's a perfect dress!!! But the way the dress came up at the back of the neck, it would have looked SO lovely up. I'm sure it was her who decided she wanted it mostly down, she must feel comfortable with it down. I really really wanted to see it up, though...
Laina Matocha I loved it! I thought it looked beautiful with her dress and I loved that she stayed true to herself and her style instead of going of going with a "princess" look like everyone expected.
Josh Watts I loved it for many reasons but number one is that I thought it was cohesive to the overall look which as artists we sometimes forget. I didn't notice that any one element overshadowed any other, and with that veil I think it was perfect because if it were up you wouldn't have seen any of it anyhow.
Brian Buterbaugh Beautiful, simple. We have to remember the times we are living in. The average person and the average princess prefer plain boring hair. People shouldn't look back on their wedding photos and regret their hair style. Something trendy or o the moment like Steven Tyler with a head full of feather extensions would be ridiculous.
Sherri Jessee She looked lovely. As hairdressers, we want to "dress the hair" and would-no doubt have preferred something more coiffed, however, she totally looked like herself showing off her natural beauty with confidence.
