The hair accessories featured at the fall/winter ‘09 collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York bucked the less-is-more trend with unapologetic opulence. Here are a few of the best looks featuring "hard" wear as adornment.

Orlando Pita for T3 accented chignons with Carolina-created rosettes at the eponymous show. Pita took the extra ornaments designed for the clothes, shoes and handbags and built them into the hair design.
