(Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images) Mindy Kaling, star in The Office and the new series, “The Mindy Project” looked stunning in her emerald green St. John’s gown at the 64th annual Emmys on Sunday, but did you see her hair? To compliment the ‘70s, drapey feel of Mindy’s gown, stylist Luke Chamberlain drew his inspiration from style icon Bianca Jagger. Staying away from anything too rough in texture, the key was to achieve a soft and romantic look through voluminous hair that would complement the romantic gown.

TRY IT:

STEP 1: Starting with damp hair, apply a volumizing mousse section by section throughout the hair.

STEP 2: Add a small amount of Biolage ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment. Blow dry the hair with a medium boar bristle round brush sealing in the oil and mousse.

STEP 3: Use a 1-inch barrel curling iron and wrap around hair it in a Figure 8 pattern. Continue this technique with all sections throughout the hair. Then, place the curls in 1-inch velcro curlers while allowing to cool.

STEP 4: Remove the rollers and brush out the hair creating lush and voluminous waves.

STEP 5: Finish off the look with Matrix Total Results Amplify Hairspray to lock in volume.
