When you think of your textured clients, you probably envision a woman with a mane of curls, or untamable frizz or even long, loose waves. Guess what? Men have those textures, too. But with their short hair cuts, they often buzz off their curls and you can't tell what's really happening on top of that head.

Recently, with the popularity of longer styles for men, curly guys who want to stay on trend are trying to figure out how to handle their unruly locks. This is where you come in and that's why this edition of Texture! focuses on men and their styling needs.

Texture Experts

Unlike women, most men don't have many preconceived notions about their hair. This makes your job as a stylist even more fun. After you consult with your male client (show him lots of photos so he knows exactly what you're thinking), make sure he knows how versatile his texture can be. This is also a great opportunity to retail texture products. Guys can be clueless and overwhelmed by the amount of hair products on your shelves-your advice will not only be needed, but sought out.

And whether your male client is 16 or 60, be sure to emphasize that longer, texturized looks can be styled age-appropriate for anyone. Check out our roundup of textured celebrity men for inspiration.
