MODERNâS Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern caught up with legendary platform artist and industry icon Robert Cromeans (also Paul Mitchell Systems Global Artistic Director,) to get the scoop on his eclectic style. According to Cromeans whether he is visiting any of his five salons, heâs always fashionably dressed.
Known for his trademark Scottish garb and hat feather, Cromeans says he has a âfetishâ for pieces (especially hats) by Philip Treacy (who also designed for the late Alexander McQueen) and Japanese design. Whether itâs earrings, jackets, vestsâ¦etc. Cromeansâ likes to pick up different one-of-a-kind pieces during his travels. According to Cromeans he sometimes visits Lorenzos in L.A, he shops âa lotâ in London, and ânot so muchâ in New York (because itâs âtoo conservativeâ).
âNobody has ever shown up looking like me at a party, thatâs for sure,â chuckles Cromeans in the episode. He also mentioned that he never turns âonâ or âoffâ his styleâheâs pretty much the same guy all the time. âItâs not stage persona,â he says. âI come to work looking like this, and I think the clients get a treat.â Cromeans also thinks that hair stylists should indulge in dressing up, getting their hair done and feeling like they are on stage everyday.
