We ask members of our ProView panel to talk about what their curly-haired clients want.

“Clients with curly hair are daring to wear it more natural for summer. We have been scheduling styling lessons with color appointments to demonstrate correct product application and provide valuable options for quick updos and drying methods. Curly hair can be so beautiful!”
—Suzanne Bond, Proview Panelist owner and L’Oréal Professional portfolio artist of PERFECT 5th in Mooresville, NC

“I see it being half and half. Ninety percent of the time—for about three or four years in a row—people were always requesting straight. Now people are looking for a change, and they are tired of doing damage.
I see a lot more curly requests.”
—Trish Moore, Proview Panelist stylist at Wild Hairs Salon in Indianapolis, IN

“We’re doing keratin treatments. People are asking, ‘Can I be curly without being completely straight?’ Keratin treatments give our clients the option of both. People don’t want to be stick straight all the time, but curly, with less frizz.”
—Sandra Haynes, Proview Panelist owner/stylist of What’s New The Salon in Murfreesboro, TN

“I have been trying to get my clients to go more curly and explore their texture. I find that it takes a little while for my clients to see themselves with more body. My curly clients are looking into conditioning, glossing and making their curls healthier.”
—Patty Gibbons, Proview Panelist hair stylist/colorist at Salon Royale Court, Philadelphia, PA

“Clients with curly hair are daring to wear it more natural for summer. We have been scheduling styling lessons with color appointments to demonstrate correct product application and provide valuable options for quick updos and drying methods. Curly hair can be so beautiful!”
—Michelle Kleppe, Proview Panelist owner of Obadiah Salon in Bellevue, WA
