For 12 years, MODERN’s sister publication, SALON TODAY, has annually honored the fastest-growing salons in North America and provided readers of the annual SALON TODAY 200 January issue with tangible benefits for measuring their own businesses. For 2010, the program will be shifting its focus beyond growth, to also reward the best business practices of salons.
“While growth is still a good barometer for a healthy business, we recognize it’s not the only measurement of success,” says Stacey Soble, editor-in-chief of SALON TODAY. “For 2010, we will take the competition one step further by analyzing best practices that lead to success, and recognizing the salons who are leaders in these important areas.”
In addition to submitting their business data, 2010 applicants will be invited to submit essays in one or more of the following categories: compensation programs, retention, customer service, recruitment and training, advanced education, marketing, environmental sustainability, inventory control, retail and salon technology.
