Modern Salon Media Publisher Steve Reiss presents an Excellence in Education award to Bruce Schmidt, Executive Vice President for Empire Education Group.
“Based on the volume and caliber of entries received, it is clear there are many wonderful schools doing amazing things to secure a beautiful future for the professional beauty industry,” said Modern Salon Media Associate Publisher Michele Musgrove. “We will be showcasing many of the applicants’ stories, accomplishments and best practices in our magazines, websites and e-letters. We’ll acknowledge the 48 finalist schools—as well as the honorable mention and overall category honoree schools—in upcoming editions of MODERN SALON, SALON TODAY, and online at modernsalon.com. We’ll also tap this wealth of insight from leading schools within the pages of First Chair, our exclusive publication for future professionals.”
Sharing stories of innovation, inspiration and collaboration from a diverse group of leading schools is an important part of MODERN SALON’s “Excellence in Education” mission, Musgrove explained. “We want to help spread the word about the exceptional work cosmetology schools are doing to help launch beautiful careers. Small schools, large schools, chain schools and single units of chain schools are all represented. We hope the professional salon industry will join us in celebrating them, and will help us grow and evolve the “Excellence in Education” program for 2011.”
Deadlines and application details for MODERN SALON’s second annual Excellence in Education will be posted online at modernsalon.com. For information, e-mail Joyce Alverio at firstname.lastname@example.org.
