Guido, Redken Creative Consultant, is a genuine fashion week superstar. His looks have graced the runways of top designers around the world. Today, while backstage for the Diesel spring/summer 2014 collection, Guido shared the challenges of doing hair in an unconventional setting.

"We're in Grand Central Terminal," he told Modern. "We knew going in that we could not use any aerosole products. That played in to the finished look."

That finished look became a simple and elegant fishtail braid that Guido secured with a simple knot. "It's girly and beachy," he says.  "Braids are just so feminine and girls love to wear them, they will not go away."

After sharing details on the braid itself, Guido answered the question so many have asked: How does one become a superstar? His answer is really not surprising: "It doesn't come overnight," he says. "Be prepared for setbacks. People expect a lot these days. You must learn to be patient."

In this interview Guido offers insight in to stardom and staying fresh during fashion week.
