An advocate in the fight against women's cancer, celebrity hair stylist, Jose Eber, provided a day of hair pampering for 50 female patients who have lost their hair or are in the process of growing it back.
Yesterday, Eber and his Beverly Hills salon team, came to City Of Hope cancer research and treatment center in Duarte, California. Patients received customized wigs donated by Jacylin Smith, individualized professional hair consultations, styling and cosmetology tips.
Susan Davis, who is being treated for breast cancer at City of Hope, said it is wonderful that Jose Eber is doing this for them. “I’m really excited for them to pick out a wig for me,” she said. “It’s hard for me to do this on my own.”
A salon was set up for the women with candy and lemonade. For patients who were not able to leave their rooms to attend the event, Eber came to them inside the hospital. This is the second year Jose Eber has hosted the hair project event at City of Hope.
He continues to lend supportive services to women's cancer patients to ensure they feel empowered, whole and confident throughout and after treatment. “I feel alive again,” said Cheryl Shepherd, a patient being treated for breast cancer at City of Hope.
