MSTV: Escape to an Oasis at the Cape Grace Spa

Last week’s episode of Modern Salon TV showcased a beautiful salon in South Africa called the Cape Grace Spa, located in the Cape Grace Hotel. Our Beauty and Fashion Director, Maggie Mulhern, got a taste of what guests experience on their get-a-ways.

Upon entering, guests are greeted by a massive, colorful African-themed mosaic, which is shown at the beginning of the episode. The mosaic is made up of different color panels, which reflect the boats that carried spices along the Eastern trade route. According to Tasha Clinkscales, the assistant spa manager who toured MODERN around the salon, each of the five treatment rooms in the spa are all named after spices (take a look at the episode to see the different spices).

There are five spice rooms and one Hot Spa.

The spa is mostly known for their massages. Celebrities like Oprah, Matt Damon, and Hilary Clinton have visited and received treatments. In the episode, you will learn about their signature Spice Journey treatment, which includes full body exfoliation, a nourishing massage, and a visit to the steam room.

The salon also features artwork, hand-woven rugs, custom designed furniture, sculptures, and their luxurious Hot Spa. This area includes a sauna, steam room, and a rain and body shower. Guests can come to this area before and after their treatments to clear their minds and drink some tea.

The tour around the Spa at the Cape Grace hotel in last week’s Modern Salon TV episode is definitely something you want to check out if you haven’t yet. Even though the spa is located halfway around the world, MODERN offers you the chance to get a taste yourself with our exclusive coverage.

So what are you waiting for? Watch the episode now!
