“In the world of photography, life gets flattened and condensed into a two dimensional image. With this collection, I wanted to create many different levels of volumes, indentations and separations in the hair with surface designs to create the illusion of three dimensions," says Teitel. "By that I mean there is a surface, then a design is put on top or over it to add depth and dimension.”

“As with any design, I always start off with a hair prep treatment such as Olez Essence of Youth, (Botox for the hair.) When you have a great fabric, with no frizz and flyaways, the end result is so much more pristine. The techniques were all basic, such as the braids and knots, but when combined with repetition and surface design, the end result became quite intricate. We finished by enhancing the separations with Olez Sculpt Hair Spray. The hair textures could also be changed to wavy or curly before the same techniques are applied for a totally different look."
