Hartley, like most artists, gets his inspiration from often-unlikely sources. His latest collection was influenced by designer Tom Ford’s movie, A Single Man, The film recreated 1960’s California and the style of that time with an idealized perfection.

“It (Tom Ford’s film, A Single Man) was all about beauty; every frame was flawless, showing an idealistic, purely perfect world. It made me think that as hairdressers, it’s what we try to do for our clients—create their ideal,” Hartley says.
