Peter Prosser started in hairdressing at the early age of 15. “It was my father’s idea,” says Prosser. “He suggested that hairdressing was a good career choice as people would always need a hair cut.” Today, Prosser is celebrating 50 years in the hairdressing industry after successfully developing seven salons over three decades. His company, Peter Prosser Hairdressing in West Sussex, UK, reflects his determination, innovation and dedication to provide salons of exceptional standards. Working on the salon floor five days a week and looking after an average 12 clients a day, Prosser spends a great deal of time with his loyal clientele, as well as training his staff.
In his newest collection “Anniversaire,” the styles start in the 1960s and move forward to capture the iconic trends up the 21st Century. The collection was computed in black and white to engage a timeless element, such as the iconic styles themselves. “A variety of skills were used throughout the day ranging from using tiny perm rods to curl and create the beautiful afro,” says Prosser. “Perfect blow drying was needed for the precise pageboy. Plenty of teasing and pinning was incorporated into the uptown girl (sunglasses) creating a bespoke ‘hair up’ for the 90s/2012 look.”
