She's got the degree. Now help her get the job! The easiest way to transition from looking like a college student into a confident, chic career-focused woman is through an updated cut and upgraded wardrobe.

Joico's International Artistic Director Damien Carney teamed up with actress Ashley Madekwe, star of ABC's Revenge, to provide this graduate with head-to-toe style to march into her new office with confidence and take charge! AND WE LOVE THE RESULT!

The transformation kicks off with the hair cut. By creating soft layers, a diffused perimeter and a dramatic fringe, Carney demonstrates how long, lifeless hair becomes instantly chic and fun.

“A shape like this, with broken up edges and a face-opening fringe, will impress everyone,” Carney says. “When the perimeter is softly textured, rather than blunt, and the bangs are dramatic, this cut becomes super modern."

The broken-up texture also offers major styling and finishing versatility. The look can be worn sleek (try Joico’s Smooth Cure regimen to tame texture and frizz, curly or softly waved.

“She can even pin up the back to make it look like a short hair cut!” Carney says. Spray lightly with Power Spray to finish off the style while keeping humidity at bay.

After an assessment of the finished hair style, actress Ashley Madekwe carried out the theme of updated classics in the wardrobe, selecting a black blazer with a touch of edginess in the tailoring.

“This blazer is perfect for any transitional wardrobe,” Madekwe says. “It can go with jeans, a black dress, a skirt or shorts.”

For this Drab to Fab look, Madekwe chose black trousers and a black and white blouse for the perfect first-day-of-work outfit. No need to go for wardrobe flash, agree Carney and Madekwe. This hair style easily punctuates any workplace-appropriate ensemble with panache.
