Volumized, Loose Waves at Eli Tahari

At the Eli Tahari 2012 New York Fashion Week Show, hair stylist Esther Langham from Alterna Professional, created large, loose waves with lots of extra volume and lift at the roots while still maintaining a feather light feel.

"Tahari's collection reflects real women and tailored pieces that can be found in their closets. I was inspired by this, and wanted to contrast the collection's structured silhouettes with a natural, not overly-done hair style. Whether worn down or lightly pinned up, this look can easily translate from day-to-night."

PREP:
To get the look Langham applied Alterna Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse all over damp hair and Alterna Bampoo Volume Uplifting Root Blast to the roots. Blow dry using a large round brush. This will smooth the cuticle to ensure a polished result.

When the hair is 95 percent dry, give strands texture and wave with Alterna's Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Textured Mist and then finish with a rough dry using your fingers.

STYLE:
Divide hair into 1" sections and create waves using a 1 1/4 curling iron. Alternate between wrapping and clamping sections to maintain the organic movement to the look.

FINISH:
Mist hair with anti-humidity spray.
