Nicole Richie debuts pink dipped tips on her Twitter page. (Photo from Nicole Richie's Twitter page.) A-lister celebrities of all ages have been experimenting with bold hair color choices. Whether it is in the form of streaks, dipped ends or overall base color, bright hues have been gracing the heads of many celebrities, says Pravana Color Director Vadre Grigsby.

Hot Pink Streaks

The pink hair trend is the "IT" color in Hollywood currently. Nicole Richie just recently dip-dyed her hair, revealing her new look on Tuesday, posting on her blog as well as her Twitter with the caption "Tickled Pink!" Nicole is now part of the growing group of celebrities brigtening their hair with this eye-cating color.

Who else has hopped on the pink bandwagon? January Jones, Ashley Tisdale, Brooklyn Decker and Lauren Conrad have all experimented with the trend.

TRY IT: To achieve hot pink strands pre-lighten the pieces you would like to color to a light pale yellow using PRAVANA Pure Light Power Lightener. Follow up by applying the following VIVIDs formula on the lightened pieces: 3 parts VIVIDS Magenta + 1 part VIVIDS Pink + 1 part VIVIDS Yellow. Process for 30 minutes.

From sky to dark blue, bright blue ends have been seen on celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga; in the fashion world at spring 2012 shows like Narcisso Rodriguez and Thakoon; and its been seen outside of the music scene on Marc Jacobs, Juliette Lewis and Zahara Jolie-Pitt.

TRY IT: To achieve Actress Jamie King's blue ends, start by deciding where your blending color will begin. Pre-lighten the hair with PRAVANA Pure Light Power Lightener to a light pale yellow for the blue section and a pale yellow for the green sections. Mix the lighter color first and apply from the starting point through ends. Mix the second darker formula and apply this over the lighter shade wherever you want the darker color to start. Process 30 minutes.

Lighter color formula: 1 ounce Silk Degrees Shine Treatment + 1 drop VIVIDS Blue + 1 drop VIVIDS Green

Darker color formula: 1/2 ounce Silk Degrees Shine Treatment + 3 drops VIVIDS Green + 2 drops VIVIDS Blue.

This look worn on Willow Smith is especially great on darker hair types since the hair doesn’t need to be lifted too light for this yellow to show.

TRY IT: Pre-lighten selected area to a pale yellow with PRAVANA Pure Light Power Lightener. The formula to replicate this bright and beautiful yellow is simple–VIVIDs Yellow straight from the tube over the lightened pieces. Process 30 minutes.
