Davines Artistic Director Angelo Seminara and International Color Ambassador Edoardo Paludo team up frequently to create award winning and show stopping finishes. The two were on hand recently at the Davines headquarters in NYC and were showing some of their favorite looks to all the editors there to learn more about the new styling products (to be launched soon). When Seminara turned to the long, consumer friendly shape with intricate color boxes (shown here) all were intrigued and curious.

"The philosophy here is all about Living Jewels," said Seminara. "They are multicolored insects that are just so beautiful. The finished look is inspired by the high end Japanese technology in making new fabrics. The shape is grungy/rock and roll with some volume...and quite undone. Each colored square is crimped which gives straight away beautiful texture."

For the color, Paludo cannot be too specific as the color results from a soon to be launched line from Davines. "We use a squared spotted technique," he says. "Each squared section is lifted with 40 volume bleach and then the selected color is placed in each box." The exotic finish is just one of several breath-taking looks created by the duo to be shared twice each year by Davines. In this video, Seminara and Paludo break down the look shown here.
