Amanda LoCastro (@HairByAmanduhh), a hairdresser/ color specialist at DiRosa Haircare in Franklin Square, NY (@DiRosaHairCare) was eager to correct what she describes as "an ombre gone wrong". According to LoCastro, "her hair was left fried with an obvious line of demarcation. There was nothing blended or fluid about this 'ombre'. She was looking for a new look, and left it up to me! We cut off 8 inches, highlighted, broke her base and styled.

Here LoCastro offers the details:

Step 1: Cut off damaged hair from length.

Step 2: Highlight the hair using Goldwell Silk Lift and 30 volume developer, alternating micro-weaves and micro-slices.

Step 3: Balayage the hair outside of the foils with Goldwell Silk Lift and 30 volume developer.

Step 4: Process for 20 minutes.

Step 5: Shampoo and apply equal parts of Goldwell New Blonde base breaker from roots to ends for 7 minutes.

Step 6: Complete with a razor cut, blow dry and style.
