Think creating effortless waves, especially when going for a consistent look for a fashion show, is easy? Think again. Frank Rizzieri, Aveda guest artist, editorial stylist and owner of the Frank Rizzieri salon and school, shares that prepping more than a dozen models for an outdoor fashion show, and going for a uniform, frizz-free finish, can be challenging.

For the Stella McCartney Resort 2015 presentation Rizzieri went for simple 1970's waves. "The challenge was creating a barrier against humidity," he says. MODERN asked Rizzieri why a professional is needed for hair that looks very "DIY": "Slightly do it yourself hair is the hardest hair to do," he says. "Especially when it must hold up on all the models all day for an outdoor presentation."

Here Rizzieri offers the HOW TO:

STEP 1. Dampen and divide hair into a top and bottom section. Apply Smooth InfusionTM Naturally Straight to the bottom section first to set the foundation for a beautiful frizz-free straight style. Repeat application on top section and blow dry in with a diffuser.

STEP 2. To add texture to the hair before styling, spray Pure AbundanceTM Style Prep all over.

STEP 3. Blast again with a diffuser and create a gentle center part with a wide tooth comb. Tuck hair behind both ears, away from face.

STEP 4. Using a 1 1⁄2 inch double barrel curling iron wrap ends of hair around barrel to create loose bends and waves all over.

STEP 5. Finish off the look by gently running Dry RemedyTM Daily Moisturizing Oil through hair for added shine and tousle for a natural feel.
