This lush head of hair was created with extensions from So.Cap and color from Matrix. Nicholas French, national creative director for So.Cap USA (socapusa.com) and global artistic designer for Matrix (matrix.com) along with Franco Hernandez, national director of education for So.Cap and Ramon Bacaui, master designer at Hair Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, were the creative forces behind this voluminous look.
“This is the perfect way to fatten and color the hair simultaneously,” says Hernandez of the
extensions. “There are 81 shades available of these extensions. It is all so pure and easy. Extensions are the perfect way to introduce a client to color and give her a new look.”
And did she ever get a new look. These big, bold ’dos make a statement for any event. Clients will love the look for weddings, parties and other high-fashion functions. They’ll get all the glam with no commitment.
"I love the asymmetry of this look.”

Nicholas French and his team used So.Cap extensions to create a full, voluminous updo and down style for lots of drama.
Model’s regrowth was pre-colored using equal parts SoColor 9AV and 20-volume developer for 10 minutes at room temperature. Shampoo and dry the hair. Section as shown.
Pull out horizontal sections, place on foil and alternate two shades for high- and lowlights. Apply equal parts V-Light powder bleach and 10-volume developer for highlights and Color Sync 8WN with its own activator for lowlights. Process to desired shade. Then shampoo (without conditioner) to clarify the hair.
Blow dry and flatiron.
Begin the extension application below the rounds of the head, blending up to just below the high point of the crown. Pull out a 1/4-inch section and place through disk protector.
Place the keratin piece below the natural hair.
Seal with the warm fusion applicator tool for five to seven seconds.
Work up the head, adding different shades in the meche series, blending high- and lowlights within the same keratin graft.
To cut, pull out vertical sections and slide cut along the surface. Cut with a texturizing shear.
Along the sides, pull out in a brush and slide cut to blend.
Comb and cut to the desired length.
To set, pull up one-inch sections and spray at roots.
Place in rollers and wrap toward the head.
The hair is wrapped as shown in jumbo rollers.
For the second look, place wefts and clip in throughout the hair. Blow dry with a diffuser to set hair in place.
