Begin with the color at the fringe. Note the grown-out highlights.
On fringe, in one-inch sections apply: Clairol Professional liquicolor
permanente 4RRV (strongest red with violet) permanent color. Blend with
10-volume cream developer.
Blend throughout the fringe in one-inch sections.
On the rest of the hair apply a demi: Clairol Professional Premium Crème 4N
(medium natural brown) with its own developer.
Process for 20 minutes; shampoo and condition.
For cut, create a zig-zag section along the round of the head to separate
at top section and fringe. Isolate the top. Take out a piece from the existing
layers to use as a guide.
Begin the cut at the back. Pull a vertical section out and slide cut from the
existing length to the desired length.
Blend forward using the same technique.
Then bring all the length down and point cut into the ends to create the
desired line, in this case a U-shape.
Now release the isolated top. Cut using a reverse slide cut, going from the
interior to the lengths.
Blend forward and into the sides, cutting in the same manner.
To finish and texturize, take small sections, twist and whisper cut along the
surface.
To soften the existing fringe, lift and cut into the ends with texturizing shears.
