After lots of research, we found that the best spa in Prague, Czech Republic can be found in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, just blocks from the Charles Bridge in the Mala Strana quarter on the left bank. After walking over cobbled streets and through an ancient archway, we found the spa connected to the hotel through an original tunnel connecting the ancient and historic building to the hotel.

There are multiple highlights in this 13th Century former Dominican monastery including the entrance, set in the nave of this former Renaissance chapel, the seven treatment rooms, the vaulted ceilings and archways and original stairwells and doors. Each morning a yoga class is held on the glass floored encasing illuminated remnants of the onetime gothic church which was uncovered during reconstruction.

Of course there are the special treatments that have made the Mandarin Oriental Spas some of the finest throughout the world. The therapies, inspired by ancient concepts but using modern techniques, include pampering rituals such as the tailor made “time” rasul treatments designed to induce mental peace and tranquility, bohemian rituals, oriental indulgences including Vltava treatments, Oriental Essence and Swedish massages, Aromatherapy and Aroma Stone treatments and Quintessence Boy Scrubs. “It’s all about pampering, balance and harmony,” said Ana before she took me on a tour of the facility. “We offer a holistic sensory journey where east meets west.”

The Spa at the Mandarian Oriental in Prague has been voted the “favorite Spa In Europe” by several sites and we now know why! Check out this tour and you will see as well.
