Ri Ci Curls

Ricky Pennisi, founder of Ri Ci Products, invited the press to meet him at the Dario Salon in NYC to see how he uses his products and a diffuser to create beautifully defined, frizz free curls.

"It's all about controlling the curl to get detail, shine and definition," he says. "You never want to comb curly hair. You also don't want to scrunch the hair. That will create frizz. It's also important that products for curly haired clients contain hydrating properties."

In this demo, Pennisi, a master educator, manages to give advice and instruction as he creates his finished look.  Watch as he moves both himself and client to maximize the texture. Although it is a workout for Pennisi, he says "I really let the diffuser do the work."

This is gorgeous, My client has more of a tighter coil (malato hair). Would I be correct to say that this product would work the same and I would also follow the same steps as you instructed?

It works on any curl type to loosen the curl. Put a quarter size of conditioner from the base of the ponytail out. Then section by section add gel. To enhance the curl section by section apply from the roots to the end. Spray hairspray and then diffuse.
