Not all blondes were created equally.

Brittany Gonzalez (@hairbybrittanyy) of Habit Salon in Gilbert, Arizona had a client come in to her with very brassy yellow blonde hair with a natural base of level 8. Gonzalez took her client from "drab to fab," as she posted on her Instagram.

STEP 1: "I went in and did a full-head highlight and lowlight 2/1, but I don't bring the lowlights all the way through, only half way, because she wanted her ends nice and bright."
STEP 2: Hair-painted all of the client's ends to brighten them up. This creates the sombre look by having the dimension through the top and having her ends solid bright blonde. "I only use Goldwell's color line, the lightener I used was Oxycur with 30vol and olaplex to keep her hair in good condition. For the lowlight I used Goldwell's demi permanent color line Colorance and I used half 7g and half 7n."
STEP 3: The client wanted her roots to grow out nice, so Gonzalez didn't do a heavy highlight, but rather opted for babylights.
STEP 4: "I toned her with Colorance 10p to get rid of any yellow tones and make her nice and bright."
STEP 5: Used Unite 7 Seconds leave-in detangler, Living Proof's Instant Repair on client's mids and ends and then some Oribe Royal Blowout to help smooth the hair when round brushing to style.
STEP 6: "After her hair is all dry, I wave it with a 1 1/4in curling iron to give her some beachy waves. To finish it all off, I love to use Unite Texturiza Spray to give it some hold and texture."
