Rockin’ Red by Kiyah Wright, Clairol Professional celebrity colorist and stylist, is an intense red color technique that is vivid and shiny. It uses different “flare” shades to brighten up the root area, while refreshing the faded lengths and ends to create dimensional color that pops.

FORMULA AND APPLICATION

Natural level 6 with faded red ends

Formula 1: 1 oz Clairol Professional Flare 5VVR with 1 oz 10-volume developer (mix equal parts 20-volume Flare developer and distilled water to create 10 volume)

Formula 2: 1 oz Clairol Professional Flare 5VVR with 1 oz 20-volume Developer

Formula 3: 2 oz Clairol Professional Flare 6RR with 2 oz 10-volume developer

1. Starting 1½ inches away from the front hairline, create a triangle at the crown of the head.

2. Take thin slices inside the triangle and alternate Formulas 1 and 2. For a softer effect, weave the last two foils.

3. Apply Formula 3 from roots to ends and in-between the foils. Process for 30 minutes.
