Walker (@walkerbespokesalon), an artist at Bespoke Salon in Scottsdale, Arizona, was challenged with a client who wanted to soften her ombre. Being a first time client, a thorough consultation was performed to uncover haircolor history in order to reach the new destination. Walker describes the outcome by stating, "Balayage...We put the game down flipped it and reversed it."

Here Walker offers the HOW TO:

Step 1: Begin with a global application parting the hair into four quadrants. Pull the product from scalp through the line of demarcation, blending to the regrowth. Color used: L'Oreal Professionnel Demi-permanent hair coloring system, half tube of Dialight 7 Natural mixed with 9 volume Dia Activateur.

Step 2: Once global application was complete, add equal parts 8N and 8.3 (8g) with 9 volume Dia activateur  to the previous mixture . Start at the base and work up the head. Apply in a reverse Balayage technique, feathering in a shadow low light effect leaving more of the ends out as you approach the front hairline.

Step 3: Process for 20 minutes.

Step 4: RInse and shampoo and then glaze the ends at the bowl with a a quarter tube of 10.13 and clear in Dialight with 9 volume.

Step 5: Process for 10 minutes to brighten up her ends and add shine.
