Katee Petro (@kateeclaire), co-owner of Salon Deja Vu in Rockaway, New Jersey, SUDZZfx educator and stylist of over 20 years created a sizzling, multidimensional look for her client.

“I wanted her hair to look like moving flames,” Petro says.

She succeeded not only in creating a fiery color combination, but also in placing the colors perfectly to enhance the look of movement in the hair.

GET THE LOOK:

Pre-Treatment
“I started off by pretreatment with a CPR treatment by SUDZZfx, literally bringing the hair ‘back to life,’” Petro says. “First I clarify with Nyrvana Purifying Shampoo, then cocktailed our three conditioners (Aquafix for moisture, Enhance to help PH balance the hair, and Moxee to add protein) with a couple of drops of Zenyth for shine and conditioning. I combed it through starting at the ends (which always need it the most) and worked my way up. I then cap it under a dryer for 5 minutes, rinse and thoroughly towel dry before applying the color. By pretreating the hair I have a clean, fresh, balanced head of hair to apply color to.”

Color
“Then I used Magicolor, an Italian line,” Petro says. “I used 5.60 (red/brown) with a ribbon of Magicrazy (additive that can be used straight or with color) V1 (thunder violet) and a ribbon of R2 (cherry red) for the new growth. I then melted the root color into the mid shaft color which was equal parts of 5.62 (Scarlett red) and Magicrazy R1 (fire red) and O1 (gold Amber). Then for the ends I used straight up Magicrazy Y1 (sunshine lemon). This whole process was done on previously lightened hair. I processed it for 35 minutes.”

Finish
“For finishing, I blew her out with a generous amount of Zenyth and Blow Out for smoothness and volume,” Petro says.
