Amanda Billardello of Glitz Salon, Rochester, Michigan loves "a nice color challenge and being able to finish it off with a sleek hair cut! The model in my pictures is actually one of my co workers who always let's me get a bit creative with her hair." This color design took place over one week and Billardello says the hair actually felt better after the mulitple steps.

Here she shares the HOW TO on her colleague who started off with a 2a base (Goldwell) and teal ombre at her ends (Elumen):

Step 1: Prelighten using Goldwell Silk Lift with 40 volume developer. Apply from root to ends and proess for 30 minutes under the dryer. Shampoo and dry.

Step 2: For additional lift, blend Wella Blondor with 30 volume developer and shampoo. Process to desired lift then rinse.

Step 3:  Brush down her base, along the part, with 10ml 8OR and 10ml 7N Colorance "to get her by until the next week to finish it." Process according to manufacturers instructions.

one week later:

Step 4: Lighten the hair using Wella Blondor with 20 volume developer for about 10 minutes "just to break up her base color. This resulted in multiple levels and tones throughout her hair."

Step 5: To even out the color, apply Colorance 30ml 7N, 30mls 7G as a toner.

Step 6: Process for 20 minutes. Rinse, towel dry and apply Goldwell "Prepare". Blow dry this product into the hair. "Prepare is very important to use especially when using Elumen on prelightened hair."

Step 7: Now apply Goldwell Elumen equal parts PK, RR, and GK.

Step 8: Saturate the color from root to end and process under the dryer for 20 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Rinse, shampoo, condition and dry.
