Michael Haase (@MichaelMHaase), owner of  Salon Platinum Black, Los Angeles, is a top editorial stylist, celebrity hairdesigner and Wella artist. He created this beautiful, deep lavendar shade that he calls "Amethyst".

Here he offers the formula:

Step 1: This model had a natural tone of a light level  4 and I began by lifting the hair to a level 7 using Wella Professional Blondor Multi Blonde Powder and 6% or 20 volume developer with standard application techniques, lifting 2" away from the roots. "I wanted a smooth transition from natural to tone without the strong demarcation line." Process for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Color the hair with Wella Koleston Perfect 10/8 + 0/88 Special mix at 3-1 (mix may vary for underlying pigment) and 9% or 30 volume developer.  Apply on 50% dry hair for smooth application from roots to ends. Process for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Wash the hair and apply on damp hair: Wella Koleston Perfect 10/0 and 0/66 Special mix at 4-1 and 6% or 20 volume developer from roots to ends. Process for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Complete the process using Wella Color Touch, 0/00 and 0/68, at a ratio of 5-1, and 4% developer on damp hair for effect. Process for 20 minutes.

Step 5: Wash the hair and style.
