Emily Johnson (@eljohnson14)  of Southern Roots Salon & Spa, Chattanooga, TN, met with her client who loves to change her haircolor. In January, she was a hot hot hot Pravana red, but it had faded to maroon by the time she came to the salon in April. Now her goal was to be as white-blonde as possible.

"I needed to pull out the big guns to lift off as much as possible," says Johnson, explaining why she had to use such a high volume of developer.

Formula: White-Hot Blonde

STEP 1: To regrowth apply Redken Flash Lift with 20 volume. Bring to line of demarkation.

STEP 2: Apply Redken Flash Lift to the ends with 40 volume (blended with Olaplex, lowering volume to 30 volume).

STEP 3: Process for 35 minutes.  Rinse, shampoo and repeat. Towel dry.

STEP 4: Tone with Redken Shades EQ: 1oz of 9t and 1oz of 9v I mixed with 1 1/2 of processing solution and 1/2oz of clear ("I didn't want it to be a true 'level 9'. I wanted it to be more of a level 10.")

STEP 5: Process for 2 minutes and then rinse and apply step 2 Olaplex for 5 minutes.
