TRANSFORMATION: Inspired By Kylie

Scott Wilson (@__swilson__ )  had a fun opportunity. "My client wanted a complete color change," says Wilson, based in Kilmarnock East Ayrshire, Scotland. "She liked the idea of balayage and ombre and also liked the idea of adding vivid colors to her hair. She showed me pictures of Kylie Jenner's teal ombre. This gave me a clear understanding on what she wanted to achieve in her color service." Wilson adds that she had a level 7 semi permanent color on her hair with brunette and golden tones.

Here he shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: For base, blend 45ml of Wella Color Touch 5/1 mixed with 30ml of Wella Color Touch 4/0 with the Color Touch developer in 4%. Apply to the root area and 1/4 of the way down the mid-lengths.

Step 2: Starting from the nape, slice through the hair and balayage using Wella Blondor Freelights with 30vol developer in a mixing ratio of 1 part Blondor Freelights and 1:5 parts Freelights developer. Use foil to separate the balayage sections as the hair that was dropped from the slice had the base color combed straight through to the ends. "This would create a softer look and avoid any harsh lines in the final result." Repeat throughout the hair.  Process for 20 minutes.

Step 3: Once processed, rinse and shampoo with Wella Sp Hydrate Shampoo. For toning the hair and achieving the teal colour I mixed 4 parts Wella Koleston 0/28 and 1 part 0/88 special mixes with Wella pastel Developer. I left to develop for 10 minutes until desired tone was achieved. colour was rinsed and Wella's colour save emulsion was applied for 5mins. Rinsed then blow dried and styled.
