Charmaine Edwards (@charmededwards) just opened her CharMarie Salon this past September in Christiansburg, VA. She tagged #MODERNSALON on Instagram with this makeover and we just loved! We tracked her down to get more information.

"Client Hannah had her last color sometime in October," says Edwards. "Her goal was to be a much cooler blonde with more of a sombre than her previous ombre."

Here she shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Working in horizontal sections from her natural parting, hand paint (balayage) one inch sections. Bring some pieces to her root area and completely saturate the ends. Product used: Wella Blondor (blended with Olaplex).  Increase developer strength as you work toward the top.

Step 2: Process for 45 minutes. Shampoo the hair.

Step 3: Tone the root area with Wella Color Touch, equal parts 8/81 and 8/0 1.9% Emulsion.

Step 4: Tone the midlengths and ends with Color Touch 10/81 1.9%.
