Rianna Taylor (@rianimal_) of Salon Head Candy, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, says, "Hair painting and bright colors are a particular love of mine, since I have always had a huge passion for art which translates into my work as a stylist."

This particular makeover took about 5 hours and "a lot of patience," says Taylor. "She came back in with a lot of pink pigment left in her hair (courtesy fellow artist Alexis Jimenez) due to her porosity."

Here she shares HOW TO transform her client from hot pink to teal:

STEP 1: Apply a mixture of baking soda and shampoo to try to lift some of the pink pigment in the hair and clarify (2 times) with Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo.

STEP 2: Apply Wella Blondor and 20 volume developer (blended with Olaplex) at the sink and, piece by piece, remove the rest of the pink. Blow dry the hair.

STEP 3: Balayage throughout with Wella Blondor and 20 Volume (blended with Olaplex) being careful to not overlap the already light and processed ends. Process for 40 minutes, shampoo and dry the hair.

STEP 4: Apply Wella Color Touch 4/0 to the root area, feathering down to create softness.

STEP 5: Apply Arctic Fox Hair Color to the mid shaft and ends. (Mid formula: 2 ounces of Aquamarine, .25 ounces of Phantom Green. Ends formula: 2 ounces of Arctic Mist diluter with .25 ounces of Aquamarine with a dot of Phantom Green.)

STEP 6: Process for 30 minutes. Shampoo with Bumble and Bumble Color Minded shampoo and Post Color Treament.
