Stephanie Countey (@ hair_wizahd) of Lush Salon in Londonderry, New Hampshire, says that on this guest, for the past year and a half, "We have been doing a red into purple ombré with variations of oranges, pinks, purples and greens through side panels. She finally decided on something a little more bold, beautiful and completely opposite of what she already had - BLUE!"

Here Countey shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Using Olaplex with All-Nutrient lightener, lift out existing color, leaving a 3" shadow root of her natural hair. Process for 40 minutes. This lifted the hair to yellow and a bright orange "where her red didn't want to budge."

Step 2: Tone with Pravana Express toner Ash for 5 minutes "to cool things down so the blue would grab better."

Step 3: Apply Joico Direct Dyes in blue under the side panels and to the rest of the hair apply 50g Cobalt, 30g Sapphire and 20g Black Pearl.
