The Time Lapse Collection from Number 4 High Performance Hair Care was inspired by the art of a woman’s transformation over time.

Every day, our perspectives of the world and the thoughts we entertain are impacted by life choices, experiences and environment. As time passes those small perspective changes take on a more dramatic shift, altering us forever.

When the Number 4 High Performance Hair Care team created its latest collection, they decided to focus on the subtle progression of women as transformative art form, mimicking the smooth impression of motion, similar to the photographic effect of a time-lapse video.

“We combined raw, natural elements, drawn from various creative cycles to produce a series of images that show the evolution of a woman over a time period. A woman’s transformation can happen gradually through the years, or more instantaneous through the course of a day. Whichever it may be, Number 4 Hair Care has the tools to support creation on any level.” —Toni Wells, Number 4 Brand Director

The collection is designed to begin in a state of purity, and morph into a dramatic art form with hair taking on an avant-garde expression.

From Day to Drama

1. Cocktail Texture Styling Crème and Fluoro5 Restore & Repair Oil. Mix in palm of hands and distribute evenly through hair.

2. Create three ponytails from the front hairline to the occipital.

3. Backcomb the hair or use padding to give volume to each section. Work down, starting with the top section. Use a smooth section of hair to pin over the padding. Give the most volume to the section at the crown.

4. Focus on clean simplicity and a smooth finish by setting with Mighty Hair Spray and touching up any loose strands with Texture Styling Crème. Finish with Non Aerosol Hair Spray.
