December 2014

We loved when cover artist Ted Gibson said that there shouldn’t be a big difference between the non-celebrity client and her starlet counterparts—“That everyday woman may be having her red-carpet moment that very day,” Gibson says.

Treating your client like she’s Angelina Jolie (or Brad Pitt) is what makes being in your chair extra special during hectic times. Clients deserve to feel wonderful when they leave—whether it’s a glamorous party or simply home for a family dinner, the holidays are a time when the cameras come out. Make sure they don’t look back at that photo and cringe!

Don’t forget about upselling opportunities during this season of celebrations. Check out our Face and Body column to upgrade her makeup essentials, keep her style in place with firm-hold finishers from In Stock, and find her the best split-end treatment in Product Spotlight.

But make sure you’re also taking care of you while making your clients look their best—drink water and grab a nutritious snack while your client is processing or getting shampooed.

The MODERN editorial team wishes you and yours a joyous season and a successful new year!
