Modern Salon

September 2015

It’s always exciting to get the September issues of fashion and beauty magazines. Not only do InStyle, W, Allure and Harper’s Bazaar boast impressive folios—Vogue at 832 celebrity-drenched pages!—these fall fashion editions feature the latest trends, how to wear them, plus the designers you need to know about.

Although not 832 pages (we saved some of our favorite content for modernsalon.com), this issue of MODERN SALON is intended to do the same, featuring page after page of fresh silhouettes, contemporary color applications and styling techniques—and the beauty professionals you need to know about.

Although clients may not be as in-tune to the runways of the world, fashion and beauty go together seamlessly. In this issue, learn how one Chicago blowout bar brings fashion into the salon by implementing one key element from the runways into its dress code policy for stylists.

And while matte, glossy, textured and length descriptors apply to fashion as they do to hair, those words are also relevant to nail trends, products and services. Turn to Priority Nail to see what nail pros and insiders are buzzing about for the coming season.

For coverage of our industry’s annual “hair fashion” show, the North American Hairstyling Awards, flip to our annual Winner’s Portfolio keepsake for inspiration from each category.
