Shape and design is trending at an all-time high in men’s hair: think Macklemore, Bruno Mars, David Beckham, Adam Levine and Miguel. Thanks to big hits like The Great Gatsby and Mad Men, pop culture is embracing longer lengths, versatility, shine and severe partings—it’s a great time to be a groomer.
“Today it’s better than ever to be part of this profession,” says Danny Amorim, owner of the three Klippers Barber Shops in New Jersey and Andis platform artist and educator. “I am a very proud barber.” With new tools and education, salon professionals have access to modern techniques, making them “battle-ready.” For Amorim, the new focus on barbering tools, technique and trend has opened all the right doors, “for the client and the professional,” he says.
