HOW-TO: Ombre Glow with Colorgraphics Lift & Tone

By Lauren Quick | 06/04/2014 1:58:00 PM

Matrix’s new Colorgraphics Lift & Tone collection is new for salons in June and works for quick, natural-looking highlights or statement-making hair color effects.

The Lift & Tone one-step system produces highlights quickly through heat-accelerated technology for up to six levels of lift in less than 10 minutes. Provitamin B5 conditions hair in four different toners: extra cool, cool, neutral and warm.

Matrix’s Colographics Play Book educational guide features illustrations by fashion illustrator Izak Zenou for creative, bright imagery to accompany step-by-step color processes.

GET THE LOOK: Ombre Glow

STEP 1: Leave out a 5-cm rectangular section on top of the head. It should be placed directly over the natural part. This will remain uncolored.

STEP 2: Start in the front. Take a diagonal slice and gently comb to create a diffused line.

STEP 3: Paint the formula from the ends and work the product up to the mid-length. Lay a clean foil directly on top.

STEP 4: Repeat throughout the top of the head and back to complete the application; leave approximately 5 cm between foils. There should be a total of 12-16 foils depending on the hair density.
