Support continues to grow for Beauty Pitch 2016, a live competition where beauty entrepreneurs pitch their products to a live audience and a panel of celebrity judges. Held Saturday, July 23, Beauty Pitch 2016 is part of INSPIRE: A Night Celebrating Beauty Entrepreneurs, which kicks off the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) Beauty Week and Cosmoprof North America’s (CPNA) exhibition.
Today, the PBA announces five new industry leaders who will join the judging panel:
Necessity truly was the mother of invention for Jeff Rosenzweig, founder and CEO of J&D Beauty Products, and a father of three young girls. When he went to comb through their hair after a shampoo, he wanted to leave the hair on his children’s heads, not in the brush. With 38 years of experience in beauty products, Rosenzweig went onto develop the Wet Brush, which promises no more crying, no more tugging, no more pulling.
On April 11 at Salon Capella in Studio City, CA, an invited audience of salon professionals was introduced to Oway organic hair color, care and styling products, along with the professional salon product offerings from Simply Organic Beauty, one of the world's largest distributors of professional organic product lines. During the in-salon class, the results and how-to of using Oway color were demonstrated on live models.
Sport Clips Haircuts celebrated the opening of its 1,500th location, which happens to be in Founder and CEO Gordon Logan’s hometown of Sumter, S.C., by giving back to area youth. The milestone opening was marked with a $15,000 donation to Toys for Tots to provide gifts to children in the state’s Sumter, Lee and Clarendon counties. The contribution from Sport Clips will enable the Marines of Detachment 1202 to put Christmas smiles on the faces of approximately 3,000 additional children in the local area.
David Stern, National Sales Director of Fantasia Indusries, is retiring at the end of April, after 20 years of service.
Following a three-year service in the United States Navy, Stern received his hairdresser license and was hired by Alberto Culver in 1964. He went on to work for L’Oreal, Posner Labs and E.T. Browne before coming to Fantasia.
Stern plans on moving to Florida to relax, fish and spend time with his new granddaughter.
