Eric McLemore, president of Bosley Professional, has spent his career in professional beauty with stints at Supercuts, Nioxin and Sexy Hair before starting Bosley Professional. His company’s mission is to restore confidence in both men and women who struggle with fine hair, thinning hair and hair loss, by offering comprehensive hair solutions and superior products.

MS: TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU CAME TO LAUNCH BOSLEY PROFESSIONAL.

EM: Envisioning and building Bosley Professional Strength was a natural evolution for me, one that allowed me to address a deeply rooted concern that I developed, while working as an in-salon stylist, for those who struggle with fine, thinning, weak hair.  That experience really taught me how the state of someone’s hair can directly affect his or her overall level of confidence and as stylists we really can affect the quality of our client’s lives. I loved being able to help a client learn how to work with their hair; I was just missing some of the product tools I needed to take it a step further.

We educate stylists in order to create thinning hair experts in salons across the country, while operating through integrity, honesty and passion.  And our message is that anyone can be a Hair Hero to someone who is struggling with fine, thinning, weak hair just by recommending Bosley Pro products. Bosley Pro does offer total solutions and we love giving people that great feeling the first time someone says to them, “Hey, your hair looks thicker/better/awesome!”

Bosley Professional Helps Stylists Become Hair Heroes

MS: YOU ARE OPENING UP NEW DISTRIBUTION AROUND THE WORLD.  TELL US ABOUT MAKING INROADS INTO THESE NEW MARKETS.

EM: Did you know that there are over a billion people who struggle with fine, thinning hair? Clearly there is a huge need for comprehensive solutions. We focus on finding distributors who really “get” the mission of our company. We work with representatives from The Kirschner Group to identify and explore our options in areas that work for us strategically.

Once the distributor is on-board we develop a plan and personally educate the management and sales teams. The first training is usually done by me and our Director of Education, Michelle Blaisure, as I always want to know each distributor personally. Follow up may be with a member of our senior team, but I feel that it’s very important to always be in contact myself.

MS: WHO ARE THE KEY EXECUTIVES ON YOUR TEAM?

EM: Even though we are now in over 34 countries, people are often surprised that we still have a small team. I like to say small, but mighty team, as each is essential to our success and I am so proud of them. Michelle Blaisure, Dev Rice, Emily Greenblatt, Denise Ottomanelli, Kandee Jackson, LeAnn Price, Kelly McLemore and Gaby Willis, are my own personal “Hair Heroes”

MS: TELL US ABOUT YOUR PLANS FOR 2014.

EM: We are very excited about 2014 here at Bosley Pro. We are currently expecting to launch up to eight new countries, while adding an additional 3,000-5,000 new salons here in the US. The great thing about Bosley Pro is that we can get the conversation started in whatever country we add to our mix. Our website will help build awareness and allow us to provide a level of basic education to anyone new to our product line. We’ve cleaned it up, made it more user friendly and now house our PK and user videos, for instant education.

MS: WHAT HAS BEEN THE KEY TO YOUR GROWTH AND SUCCESS?

EM:  I created this company to help people. My team is clear that this is what we do. When you are clear on your mission and measure everything in the business against it, you can only be successful and you will always stay on track.
