Trevor Attenborough, president and general manager of Kao USA Salon, announced that Goldwell KMS California will open a new academy in New York City’s chic Meatpacking District. The academy will open in Spring 2014 at 22 Little West 12th Street. The academy will be a multi-story space featuring a rooftop classroom with views of the city skyline, offering an urban muse to inspire students in their creative process.

“Whether drawing from the rich cultural heritage or striking architecture of this world class city, we hope that our guests will be inspired to take their craft to the next level,” says Attenborough.

The New York Academy’s custom classes will include the Inspiration NYC course, which will be a unique combination of classroom work and field trips. Students will experience guided tours that include museums, city neighborhoods and night spots accompanied by Global Color Master John Simpson who will help students interpret their city experiences into original styles.

The company’s Vice President of Education Sandra Humphries, says, “We are so excited to bring together such an innovative team of both artists and attendees that will create styles that are true works of art.”
