Lady Gaga Steps Out in Gold Hairdreams Hair Art in London

His designs are avant-garde, extravagant and show-stopping.  Haute Coiffure icon Charlie Le Mindu presented his new, remarkable collection made out of golden, blonde Hairdreams hair extensions at Fashion weeks Fall-Winter 2013-2014 in Paris and Berlin.  And Lady Gaga--equally extravagant--stepped out in one of le Mindu's intricately woven wigs on the streets of London.

Spotted passing a parade of paparazzi, Gaga's face was hidden by the hair mask which Le Mindu describes as being inspired by African tribal culture.

"I was really inspired by lots of different African tribes, but mostly by the Queen of Sheba because she is a really strong and powerful woman. I've always been inspired by the very intense woman," said Le Mindu.

The latest collection is dominated by the color gold with soaring hair sculptures that were created by Charlie as head pieces for his golden-clad models. Each was a an innovative piece of art – from a towering afro to a mask that resembled a totem and another of a woman’s face. The sculptures are all made out of genuine hair by Hairdreams, which was color-customized in real gold; thus, inventing a brand new method to create golden hair allowing gold pigments to be permanently attached to real human hair. In total, more than 35 kilograms of Hairdreams genuine golden hair strands were used for this " Gold Sabah“ Collection– making this the most precious collection ever created by Charlie Le Mindu.

"Just the value of the hair alone used for this collection lies in the high 6 digit Euro,“ explains Elisabeth Brandstetter, Hairdreams Marketing Director. "In addition, more material and accessories were used together with Charlie´s creative work as well as hundreds of hours of labor for the designer and his team. One can only imagine how much this collection is worth.“

For this collection, Charlie Le Mindu went back to his roots and focused all his efforts on hair and head pieces. For the fashions, he partnered with the well-known Japanese (London-based) "Queen of Latex-Couture“ Atsuko Kudo.

This collection combines the talents of two of the most experimental designers of today, whose creations are very much admired by style icons such as Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, Beyonce, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Lana del Rey and other A-list "Fashionistas“.
