Professional nail care company CND and their partner donors fund the BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship program honoring actress and humanitarian Tippi Hedren. For decades, Ms. Hedren has served as an advocate and champion of the professional nail care community, helping thousands of individuals find rewarding careers as entrepreneurs and nail care technicians. Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit initiative of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools and serves as the administering body for the scholarships.

Winners were selected in a formal scholarship application process that required applicants to submit a digital video or essay, and an inspiration board expressing their passion for careers in the professional nail care industry. “The passion of these individuals came across vividly in their inspiration boards, essays and videos, which connected their passion for nail care with their love of family, nature, travel and art,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation.

CND Co-founder and Beauty Changes Lives Foundation board member Jan Arnold said the competition celebrates the rich, rewarding career opportunities available in the professional nail care industry. “Whether an individual wants to build a business, work in the fashion industry or unleash their artistic expression anew every day, the professional nail care industry offers many paths to success,” Arnold said. The BCL|CND|Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship program has proudly awarded $100,000 in nail scholarships in 2014.
