Latino Fashion Week, held October 1-5 in Chicago, featured hair and makeup looks designed by a team of cosmetology students and instructors from Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. Student teams from Tricoci University’s Chicago Northeast and Northwest campuses worked alongside some of the beauty industry’s top salon professionals, as well as the fashion industry’s most talented Latino designers, to makeover the runway models with cutting-edge beauty looks.

“We’re truly honored to be taking part in such an inspiring and creative national event,” Jill Marcodes, Executive Director of Cosmetology Education of Tricoci University of Beauty Culture, says. “We place great emphasis on giving our students regular industry experience and this type of activity is a perfect example. Nothing beats being able to work alongside and learn from salon professionals in a fast-paced fashion environment.”

In its eight year and themed ‘Beyond Exceptional’, Latino Fashion Week is the only full week and tour dedicated to Latino Fashion in the United States, showcasing top Latino designers from Central and South America, the Caribbean and the U.S. The event also takes place in Dallas, Los Angeles and Miami throughout the year.

“Latino Fashion Week was created to support the talent of local, national and international Latino designers,” Arabel Alva Rosales, Co-Founder of Latino Fashion Week, says. “With Chicago being our hometown, we love the city’s local fashion and beauty talent and enjoy sharing it globally. We appreciate all of our partners, including Tricoci University, and look forward to seeing its team showcase their beauty skills!”
