Chagrin Falls, Ohio, is a picturesque little town outside Cleveland that surrounds the beautiful natural waterfall on the Chagrin River. It has been seen in the films House Arrest and The Gathering and sports an annual “Pumpkin Roll.”
Chagrin Falls is also home to the Aquage headquarters and the new photo and video studio created by Luis Alvarez.
MODERN SALON and Alvarez conducted the very first shoot at the studio in early January, a shoot that was so hot, the studio actually caught fire!
“Okay, that was an accident,” said Alvarez after pounding out the carpet fire that was created when a toaster went up in flames and fell over during the lunch break. “We just put this carpet down yesterday!”
Fortunately, the studio survived and Alvarez wiped his brow in relief. “This has been a dream,” he said as he scanned the space. “I’ve been renting studios for years. I have had to add two days for prep and two days after for breakdown for every shoot. Having it all here on site is making life so much easier!”
The 50-by-30-foot studio is designed for both video and still photography, with lights suspended from the ceiling.
“Chagrin Falls is such a perfect little town,” said Alvarez. “It’s a great location with great hotels, and even a Starbucks! The only thing missing now is, of course, my toaster.”
