THE EVENT: The Rusk-sponsored finale of Hair Wars, held at Moon Nightclub in Palms Casino Resort, the culmination of a series of competitions.

THE DETAILS: Hosted by Charlie Price, Shear Genius 2 finalist and two-time North American Hairstylist of the Year, the finale showcased seven salons who battled for the title of Most Creative Salon in Las Vegas, in addition to prizes and a huge trophy. The finalists were Roni Josef Salon, Primp Salon, Tease Salon, Liquid Salon, Ramba Salon, Curl Up N Dye and Circa Salon.

THE WINNER: Judges Charlie Price, along with entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs, Rusk Show and Education Director Jim Roberts and MODERN Senior Editor Alison Shipley, voted unanimously on the winner. With a  Holiday Spirit theme—Primp Salon’s model captured the essence of New Year’s Eve clad as a champagne bottle, complete with bubbles.

THE LAST WORD: “Hair Wars is a great opportunity for salons to show off their styling skills and creative influence,” Roberts says. “Competing is great exposure for salons and is crucial for keeping up with what’s going on in the rapid-moving hair industry.”
