Jun Kuwabara (@juuuuuuuun) of Yamanashi, Japan, is on a journey around the world with a goal to cut hair whevever he goes.

According to an Instagram post, he took only a backpack, his guitar and his hairdressing tools and set out this April to accomplish this goal. "I wanted to engage in something signifiant while I traveled," Kuwabara says. "The only thing I can do is cut hair, so I thought I'd work on an idea of cutting 1,000 people."

Kuwabara is now in Southeast Asia and volunteers to cut hair for locals, orphans, fellow travelers and Japanese ex-pats who found him thorugh his blog and Instagram. He frequently ends up cutting hair wherever he can find space: sidewalks, parks and even beaches.

"Once I start cutting for one person, onlookers will usually ask for a haircut too," adds the instagram post. Although there is no concrete travel plan, Kuwabara plans to visit India, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South America in the coming months.

Kuwabara has posted 152 images and as July 31 has just 10,245 followers. To help encourage him on his journey to make the world more beautiful, one person at a time, MODERN just started following him. Hope you do, too!
