There is always so much buzz about the female celebs on the red carpet that MODERN decided to check in with Sean James to get his take on some of his most recent guy finishes he prepared for the awards shows.  Most recently he created looks for Weird Al Yankovic, Chris Hardwick and Phil Keoghan for their strolls down the red carpet at the Emmys. In addition, he was invited to come behind the scenes to touch up some of the artists. Here Sean James answers some pressing questions about celeb prep:

HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE TIMING IF YOU ARE DOING SEVERAL CELEBS ON THE SAME DAY? TELL US ABOUT THE EMMY'S: Timing of the day really is dependent  on who was being picked up by the driver first. Fortunately Phil Keoghan and his wife Louse live around the corner from me in Santa Monica and were understanding and flexible about me coming and getting them ready first. They where started at 11:15. Then I headed over to Chris Hardwick's place. He was being picked up at 2.  I arrived at 1.15.  Phil and Chris where both doing the red carpet. Because" Weird Al “ was a secret they gave me a little later call time: back stage at the Nokia at 3.30, giving me plenty of time. The day was really well planned out. If there where any conflicts I would have had an assistant help where I could.

WHAT ARE THE BACKSTAGE PREP SECRETS? I was backstage with Al getting him ready so fortunately I was able to touch up Chris before he presented on stage. It was really cool he was in the green room with Alex Murray his manager. There was a photographer in there and then there was Matthew Mcconaughey and Woody Harrelson, 'Bro’ing out'.  Then there was me. Jay Leno stuck his head in and recognized me from all the times I had been to his show over the years with different artists. He started chatting with ME of all people! It was humbling and fun at the same time.

ARE THE MALE STARS AS DEMANDING AS THE FEMALE STARS? I have great relationships with the men. I wouldn’t say they are more demanding. Men know what they want and stick with it. They are particular in that way.

IN GENERAL, DO YOU GO TO THEM, OR DO THEY COME TO YOU? I go to their homes. On big days like this it makes it easier for them not to have to worry about travelling. Most of the time I cut or trim their hair on the day. I cut Chris and Phil both on the Emmys day. But then there's Jamie Lee Curtis who I always trim two weeks before a special event.

ANY FAVORITE STYLING TIPS? My New Chi Blowdryer Is super fast I love the Chi Styling tools. My kit Is filled with them. I carry the full range of Phyto styling products. My faves: Phytolaque soi and Phytovolume.  Chris Hardwick loves Bumble & Bumble Sumo Tech.

ANY FAVORITE MAKE UP TIPS (Sean James does both hair and makeup)? Laura Mercier Fawn and Bisque Tinted moisturizer oil free seems to be a great blend for most caucasian faces. Make up forever bronzers and concealers are the best and their new brushes are heaven. The stippling brush is the best. Make Up Forever HD pressed powder is best to finish off everything!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BEHIND THE SCENES STORY? Where do i start? here are some special moments from the Emmys:

-Chatting with Adam Levine about his blonde hair

-Congratulating Vince Gilligan for his Breaking Bad win

-The the Woody and Matthew moment

-Hanging out with Al and sharing the dressing room with super cute Andy Samberg

-Seeing Phil and Louise in the audience sitting behind Jon Voight

It was moment after moment. I really had the best night in a long time and to top it off Phil keoghan won, Chris’s presentation was a hit and Al killed it in his routine!
